Washer Woes

It has already cost us $79 to find out what was wrong with the washer, the informative repair guy from BGE Home said it would cost $300+ with labor and parts to fix our washer. the motor died. he did a temporary fix til we can get a new one but said it wont last long. Apparently the GE brand washer we had typically doesnt last long and he recommends buying a whirlpool or roper washer. He was very helpful and I was glad it didnt take him long to figure out the problem and that he was nice enough to not make us waste our money. So we’ll be using our charge card to buy a new washer, we had gotten to having credit card debt of just $300 left to pay off so this will suck but knowing we are still doing better w/ our credit we should be ok. This just isnt a good time for us financially. we had already decided this week to stop paying and going to the Y and will be getting rid of one of our cell phones. Unfortunately the Y needs 30 day notice before ending the membership so we’re out this month but we shouldnt have to pay for next month. that alone will save us $70 a month, that should help a lot w/ diapers and formula!! But of course some of that will now go to paying off our new washer once we get it. Sometimes I really hate being an adult and a homeowner, it so sucks.
