WRock like they do Tour bus event, VOA Center 7/28/08e spent 4 hours at a Rock it like they do tour bus event.  It was soooo hot!!   Rock like they do Tour bus event, VOA Center 7/28/08But the kids had fun, mostly!   I am extremely sunburned, I was lucky enough to have sunscreen for the kids, but it was running out and I saved the little left for them and any nearby tots w/ fair skin(and their unprepared moms!)  We went straight from swim lessons not knowing it would be a long wait, so we dRock like they do Tour bus event, VOA Center 7/28/08idnt have lunch until 4!  I had packed a bag of pretzels(which we also shared w/ those in line w/ us) and I walked to a nearby store to buy drinks since it was so hot out.   Pics up on my flickr account, as usual.  Bo got the best hairdo of anyone there in my opinion, he was adorable!!  we are all exhausted though and I’ve got a bad headache to boot.  but I suppose it Rock like they do Tour bus event, VOA Center 7/28/08was worth it….I really enjoyed talking w/ the other moms nearby us and it was kind of cool to bond with a stranger over the three -4 hour span of time…I jokingly said we should exchange contact info…I probably should have really done it.  I told them it was the most adult conversation I’ve had lately and that I spent more time w/ them today than I have my friends in the last few months combined!!

It’s a new day ….

Another day….another doctor appointment, or three.

So this morning I went to the podiatrist because my foot was still bothering me, mostly during and after exercise and at night and first thing in the morning…ok a lot of the time but not ALL of the time.   We talked for a bit, have I mentioned how much I like this doctor, but I digress..so after chatting he decides to take an x-ray, in the office which was great time wise!  results in 4 minutes! and even better he let me see the x-ray and explained it to me, I love any doctor who involves me in this process….way too cool.  I will probably enter into med school sometime in my lifetime just because it’s so cool!  but anyway….so the fracture is healing fine, he thinks I’m just overdoing it too much too soon, AS IF!  :-)  but the fun part was when he starts to explain the arthritis and bone spur on the x-ray.  the arthritis wasnt all that cool looking, as I would have thought.  So he said and the best view of the bone spur issue is here and shows the side view of my foot on the x-ray.    Not only do I have one bone spur which looks jagged and sharp, BUT the kicker is that there is another peice of bone fragment which is a bone spur that broke off and is just sitting there in my foot.  He thinks that is why the cortisone shot didnt really last long, since it wont help w/ that pain.  He said I will need surgery at some point to remove the broken off bone fragment and to take the other newer bone spur off as well.   the issue is when?   the recovery is 8 weeks, the first week is completely bed ridden, or rather no weight bearing at all.  the second week I start to wear a brace(or boot like I have been) and then continue to increase my activity as much as I can.     I am not feeling as bad as I was pain wise before, well I was last night but this morning it’s doing tons better but I havent been up and walking around a lot.    So we need to figure out if we should wait to do the surgery or just go ahead and do it so I can be painfree overall sooner than later.   He said it was good he took the x-ray because know we know how bad it is, I laughed and said, yeah now I know why it hurts so sticking bad.   kind of looked like a splinter, the broken off bone spur, no wonder I lay in bed and am in incredible pain!

Bo and Caleb see the ENT this afternoon…til then we have swim lessons and hopefully the boys will nap.

I hate the internet….

so on Monday before Zeke’s surgery the doctors and anesthesiologists were very concerned when they learned he had hypotonia and asthma.    Apprarently it can cause problems during surgery and they were really concerned.  then they asked if I knew why he had it, I was a little lost, in that I thought his diagnosis was hypotonia, but apparently that is a SYMPTOM!  He asked if they had done genetic testing on him and I was floored.  I told him all I know is that he has it and that’s all I know.  the more doctors and therapists we see the more concerning this becomes to me.  Sounds like I need to go see the primary doctor again for him and find out what the real deal is w/ him.  the possible causes dont sound so good, that’s what I get for googling it!!

today we spent 2 hours at the gastroenterologist for Bo’s weight issues.   not much to say about that other than this should be fun, and that they referred us elsewhere.  tomorrow he has a speech evaluation and on Friday he and Caleb see the ent, again….I am so sick of childrens hospital….but at least they are awesome as far as doctors go…the room today the exam room that is, had  a tv and they brought us several boxes of toys, and that was the exam room not the waiting room!!

well off to figure out dinner…

we’re home from Zeke’s surgery.  he is doing great, other than being a grouch! he is supposed to start a liquid diet then progress but he’s sitting next to me shoving in crackers w/ squeeze cheese because he is starving and keeps eating like he is fine!! pray he doesnt throw it up all over me!!   It wasnt worth the fight of not letting him eat, I figure if he’s that hungry his body will adjust to it!!   he doesnt seem to be in any pain just tired and hungry, and I am too!!

Caleb is at my friends house playing and Bo is off someplace w/ his granddad, not sure where since we cant get him to answer his phone….so hoping after some food zeke naps so I can rest too!  I had a rough night sleep since I was worried about my baby’s upcoming surgery and the emotional morning is wearing on me.    it was pretty hard for me to handle, but now we’re safe at home and he’s doing great, so I am doing a lot better too!

spent too long at the pool in the hot sun today, afterward I drove Caleb to his grandparents house to spend the night and on the way home the lil’ ones fell asleep and I tried not to since I had a killer migraine!  we picked up Dean and dinner on the way home and when we got in the door I crashed on the sofa for over an hour.  I’m up now but my head is still killing me.  praying I’m not starting to get sick.  Zeke still has his pre-op appt tomorrow afternoon but I’m not sure if he’ll still have his surgery on Monday or not.   He’s been really grouchy today and complaining about pain when eating.   I hate to have him remember this and the surgery together and have horrible painful memories of it!

well i’ts almost bed time for the boys, thankfully.  I am laying in bed currently typing this but I have tons of chores to do since we’re hosting a moms night out game night tomorrow, well I have invited tons to it but so far no one has RSVP’d yes so that’s kind of frustrating.   but I’ll have some snacks and the house ready in case someone decides to come!

my head is really hurting so I’ll be done for now….
