The kids did so great at the drs today! In the the car before we went in Caleb and I prayed that Jesus would be with him while he got his shots and that he’d be happy and safe. The nurse didnt know this of course and commented while during and aftere the first shot caleb laughed hysterically that she’d never had a kid respond that way before! the second shot he got antsy and moved which resulted in a long scratch from the needle coming out and scratching him. by the 3rd shot he really wasnt too keen and laid his head on my chest and kept trying to get his arm away from the nurse. Not a tear was shed by my big boy and he was back to himself before we even left the room we were in. on the way out Caleb said he was never going back there, the office staff laughed as they heard him saying this while walking out the door. Outside he commented that Jesus didnt take the pain away, I reminded him that I didnt pray that he take the pain away just that he’d be with him, he’d be happy, and that he’d be safe. He said oh yeah, he said to me that Jesus did help him.
He even commented that Jesus made his ear better, he’s got swimmer’s ear. He ecomplained of ear pain on Monday and I was concerned but knew he’d be at the dr today and all day yesterday he was fine. the dr was suprised when I told her that he only complained one day of the pain since it was very obvious his ear was a mess when she looked at it. she warned me the meds for it will hurt at first, gee thanks! I always had swimmers ear growing up and dont wish it on my kids. worse part is he’ll have to miss another day of swim class, he cant swim for a week! he missed last week while we were in Ohio. you cant make up missed classes so we paid for 6 weeks but he’ll only get to enjoy 4 weeks of it. that’s frustrating.
the important stuff from today, the kids’ stats. Boaz weighed in at 17 lbs 10 oz (10%) and height 28 1/2 (50%) and head circ. 17 3/4 (50%) she wasnt too concerned about his weight, she thinks it’s because he’s active. but if he doesnt gain more by his next appt and falls farther down on the growth chart they’ll do some more tests. He was pretty close to falling under the curve on the growth chart, so I’m going to try to push himi to eat some more, but it’s been hard getting him to eat as much as he is. Caleb is in the 75% for weight , 38 lbs, and height, 41 1/2. I was suprised because he’s so stinkin skinny, you can see his ribs even. She said he’s fine, she even said her 4 year old only weighs 31 lbs so I guess Caleb is just fine!
After the drs appt we went to visit my mom at work and one of her co-workers gave caleb money for his birthday so we went to the dollar store to let him spend his money and he was so cute thinking about what to get. He’s so used to only getting one thing he was amazed he could get more at that store w/ his money. Then after lunch we walked to the park, the weather has been amazing these last few days. Last night we slept w/ the windows open and it was great! today I’ve not yet turned the air conditioner back on yet but it’s getting hotter as the day goes on so we’ll see. I have a feeling when Dean gets home he’ll say it’s too hot in here, I’d like to say on the BGE bill as much as possible though!
well I gotta get the kids down for a nap. I’ll try to check in later this week.

I got swimmers ear once about 6 yrs ago, and it was soooo painful. Poor little guy, but what a trooper!!
