Change of Scenery

Friday night I went out w/ a friend shopping while our hubby’s took the kids out to the mall w/ them. It was a nice night except I spent a lot of money on scrapbooking supplies! Saturday morning I did some major re-organizing of our kitchen cabinets while Dean slept in and Caleb played on the puter. When Dean finally awoke he started taking our computer room apart and putting the desks, puter and paraphenelia to my office in the basement. After he worked long and hard on that, while I worked on cleaning up the rest of the house, we took Caleb to the park for his first experience fishing. it was way too hot out though and after fishing and playing at that playground we were covered in sweat! After that we went to Walmart to get paint for the baby room. Last Saturday while Dean babysat the kids another friend and I went yard saling and to pick out paint swatches for the baby room, so this week we were prepared w/ what colors we wanted we just needed the paint. Finally home in time for a nice dinner, we ate, then I painted the first two walls of the baby room while Caleb and Dean went to the game store to get some game Dean’s been wanting.

Last night I painted one wall blue and the adjacent wall orange. Today I painted the other two opposite walls green and yellow. I am amazed I painted the whole room myself and no touch ups are needed! the major project was the closet which still needs paint. I primed it today but it still didnt cover up some bright red permanent marker the previous occupants put there. So that will be a chore to finish. Other than that the room is looking great! we got the furniture put back, well the baby furniture that is! so now the nursery is almost ready except for clothes and the closet that still needs work. I love the colors and even though I was worried at first about having 4 different colors on the walls, am so happy w/ our decision because it looks great ! that worst part about 4 colors is we bought a gallon of each color and have a ton of paint left! but I needed some paint for the basement living area too so some of the color may be useful there. So take a look at the pics and let me know what you think! I am sooo in love w/ the room, but from the before you can see it’s a major change and I’m all about major repaint jobs! next room I’d love to do is our bedroom. I actually picked out some paint colors this weekend but I doubt that is a project that will get done anytime soon.

so all in all I had a very busy weekend. the highlight of my weekend is knowing a good friend moved from Florida to our area and I will see her hopefully tomorrow for the first time in years. I am very excited to see her but I think she needs a lot of help getting her new place ready and I think I may have already overdone it this weekend w/ all the work I probably shouldnt have been doing! but oh well, the baby is still kicking away and my belly is still constantly growling for food so I think Baby B is doing fine even if I’m wearing myself out! Enjoy the pics and I’ll try to get some up later this week of Caleb’s fishing fun!
