Wisdom from my walk

Now Zeke has chicken pox…wohoo!! at least we can get out of the house sooner than later.  now we just wait to see how long it takes for Bo and Zeke to get over this and hoping Zeke gets a milder case than Bo’s!  The nurse said at most it takes 10 days…up to 5 days for all the pox to appear and about 5 days til the last one crusts over.

I let Dean sleep in this morning then after he got up I went to work out at Curves. Before coming home I stopped at Kmart to get weighed in for their 12 week weight loss challenge. then I came home and did my 2 mile work out and showered. A little while later I sat down on the comfy oversized chair and Bo snuggled up w/ me. We both fell asleep for at least an hour! While I was laying there I was rubbing his hair cause he was so miserable and felt several huge bumps. Dean didnt mention him falling, but w/ Bo it’s an everyday occurence so I wasnt too suprised. A few minutes ago I looked closer and he’s got at least 4 huge chicken pox on his head, under his hair. He’s got a much worse case of pox than caleb had, got a lot more pox and is much more uncomfortable. Poor guy…hoping Zeke doesnt get it this bad.

The poor kid was up throwing up because he was coughing so badly through the night. He coughed most of the night, in between coughing he was scratching his chicken pox. The itching didnt seem to be a problem w/ Caleb for some reason. Bo definitely has more pox than Caleb did, that’s for sure! I didnt even get the calamine out for Caleb since they were mostly healed by the time we realized what he had. But Bo is miserable, dont know if the cold came w/ the pox or what but he’s not feeling well at all. So far Zeke is pox free….for now.

we thought Bo had chicken pox last week but turns out we were wrong.  he has very noticeable pox all over him and is fevered and lethargic today, which is very not normal for Bo.   So now I’m worried we exposed a ton of kids yesterday thinking the kids were clear of it but now we know they werent and now we have to find out how long we have to keep away from others and now I’m worried we have to add another 21 day incubation period to today to the time that zeke could possibly get it.  blah…I think we’re going to be stuck at home for the whole month of January at the rate…happy freaking birthday to me….

So the other day I won an 8 pack of tickets to a preview screening of the new veggietales movie.  I immediately called my friend, fellow veggie lovers, and pirate lovers too for that matter, and invited them.  They found us a sitter who was going to keep both of our little ones while we went.   But then there was the sickness….so they found us another sitter, so one was at our house and one at their w/ their kid.   Gotta love friends w/ access to teens willing to babysit, esp. when they dont mind watching a sick kid!   My friend’s husband is a high school psychics teacher, so he just asks girls he knows, I think it also helps that he also coached girls tennis!   so….we had a sitter and one spare ticket, so we invited a friend of calebs from our street.   But …she’s been newly diagnosed w/ stomach problems and not very long into the movie was in tears and in pain and begged for us to take her home…so Dean missed half of the movie, as did Bo because he wanted to go w/ daddy.   Meanwhile….Caleb and I enjoyed it!   and so did my friends family.   They even won a free dvd sing along in a drawing before the movie, so it was well worth the money! :-)  thanks WAKW for a night out, too bad we had to pay a sitter, but overall it saved us a great deal of money, so we were able to pay a sitter and buy snacks at the movie theater.   but…we highly recommend seeing the film for yourself, it opens this weekend is hilarious, for kids and parents alike.  And as always the music is great!   I especially loved the quality of the film.  Nothing quite like veggie tales on the big screen…I could watch them all day like that!   dont know if this movie was done better than their regular ones but it was very sharp and detailed.   I was impressed, but then again what’s not to like about Veggie tales?

ugh…..going to be one of those days..again.  Zeke had a fever through the night, he’s got a runny nose and congestion but all could be the beginning of chicken pox.  do I cancel my week of plans before the spots start or wait it out and potentially expose other kids?  blah…..I hate this.  going to be watching a friends kid today probably since he’s sick and cant go to daycare and she cant miss work.  does he have chicken pox as well…he started w/a  fever yesterday and  sore throat..or are we dealing w/ two different bugs…if so we’ll all have both before the weeks out. blah…I’ve been taking airborne for at least a week to keep myself from getting sick.   So far it must be helping!

I just want to crawl back into bed and start the week over….or at least wake up more refreshed!

freaking new year is kicking our butts already.  so far it’s not been good….stinking health care expenses, changes in prescription coverage we didnt know about, and for some reason the root canal kicked me into a fibro flare up….dumb dumb dumb…I was in tears at the pharmacy today and it just hasnt been a good day….week, for me.   I have woken up with no pain for at least  a week, but that was before the dumb root canal. Today and yesteday I woke up feeling like I’d been run over by a truck.   Dean said at least I can tell the difference, that I WAS doing better. I think my face is swollen too….also from the root canal no doubt…or hopefully!   I wasnt going to blog because I just dont have anything good to say but then thought I’d try..but naw…nothing worth talking about right now. A  busy week ahead, as long as Zeke doesnt start to show signs up chicken pox.    I’m not thrilled at the outlook for the year after such a crappy start….but it’s only a week in so maybe things will improve!
