Wisdom from my walk

Called to make an appt to get the crown put on my tooth from the root canal.  They cant get me in until January 28th.  which is a good and bad thing…hopefully the temporary filling holds til then.  the good thing is that gives us longer to come up w/ the $405 copay.  I gasped when I asked how much it would be and she said that’s actually good and that we have good insurance coverage, usually it’s a lot more.  So I know I should be glad…but all this money for a tooth that will probably need pulled eventually is annoying.

the root canal went as expected…painful and all!  torward the end…guessing maybe for 20-30 minutes I could feel pain.   At first they assured me my jaw was just tired and in pain…a few minutes later has he was drilling again I winced and he knew I could really feel it because his movements got much quicker and I heard the assistant say, oh that one didnt take that long….guessing he wanted to get it done so I wouldnt start screaming at him in pain, he looked at his watch at one point when I said it hurt.  trying to figure out how much he could get done without numbing me more I suppose.   He also said one root was calcified and that may eventually need extracted or another surgery if it causes problems.  Fun times…

The glitch that happened before still has me upset.  We have a flexible spending acct for medical stuff, thus why we waited til the new year to get this done, since it started over.   So I went to pay today and they have blocked our acct.  although when I called this morning it said we have $3000 available to spend.  Apparently not for some reason. Since it was making me late they let me go ahead and get it done because she said “she trusted me” So now I owe them $200 and will need to pay out of pocket for the dumb crown that I must get before next Friday…..did I mention we will already have to pay the mortgage late this month, again.   Got about $100 in medicine refills I was hoping to pay for w/ the flexible spending today and we cant.  $3000 for medical expenses that we cant access.   I am so upset and unsure how we’ll manage til we get it worked out w/ the flexible spending account.    Makes me sick to think of it.  I may need to get a real job soon if things done get better for us financially…then how do we afford childcare?  blah..it’s a vicious cycle of not having enough money….and the gas prices have gone up to $3.19 here, or so the new says, I tried not to look as I drove by the gas station today!

dreading today….getting a root canal at noon.  I am hoping its not bad and I thought I might cancel since the tooth in question hasnt bothered me since my consult for the root canal.  So I am wondering if it really needs done?   but I also took an antibiotic which may have temporarily helped it.

I’m exhausted this morning.  Dean’s home but I’m trying to let him sleep since he’s going to be in charge of all 5 kids once I go to the dentist.   but I really could use some sleep!

This was day 3 of waking up w/out any pain!   I have a headache currently but I think it’s stress related.   I’ve done 9 days of the 2 mile walking w/ faith program and I cant believe it’s really helping me feel better.

Bo can be rough and tough when he wants to be.  other times he’ll be so thoughtful and generous.    Some times I wonder how he can be the same child.   But….as much as he can push on others and swat at them when they have something he wants, he never really hurts anyone.   Today he’s more than met his match.  I’m watching my friend’s three kids, the youngest is a 3 yr old boy.   He and Bo just dont get along.  All morning long he was telling Bo that he was an idiot, is stupid and mean.   I finally made everyone sit at the kitchen table and do work, they painted, colored, made necklaces w/ beads…all while I made lunch.  After lunch I let them have  free play in the living room while I cleaned up lunch.  In those few minutes the little boy scratched Bo, I dont know why but they say Bo hit him too.  So that’s fair game right?  mostly…except it drew blood.  then again….not even a minute later he attacked Bo.   needless to say they are both napping now because I was ready to call and have her come get her kids.  I am so exhausted and stressed out…. and Bo’s in pain from his injuries.

I am going to need  a serious vacation soon…..just one of those weeks so far.

zeke’s napping, but we’re eating some snow ice cream….after coming in from playing out in the snow w/ caleb and Bo. the house is a mess but we had fun! I never used to enjoy the snow this much…but I cant help but enjoy watching my boys have so much fun! I’ve even gone sledding some w/ them, not yet today because it’s too freaking cold to get all wet….but before the winters out I’ll go again!

Well, Bo now has chicken pox too! wohoo! it’s freezing outside, below zero w/ the wind chill and it snowed most of the night. So I guess it’s not so bad that we’re housebound for another 5 days now! By Sunday though it’s supposed to be almost 60 degrees. Goofy weather!

I’m going stir crazy being stuck in the house, as are the kids. but…

I called in for the local Christian music’s stations contest and won 8 tickets to see the new veggie tales movie!! so it’s not so bad being stuck at home when you can still listen to good music and win free things! :-)  the boys are going to love it, and I’ve already told my friend about it and they are going to go w/ us.   still not sure when it is but we decided we’d take kids w/ chicken pox if we had to!
