Wisdom from my walk

It started out as a busy day, awards assembly at 8:30 for Caleb’s school then Zeke’s E.I. specialist was coming at 9:45 a.m.   So my friend was going to take Boaz w / her after the assembly so there wouldnt be as many distractions for Zeke’s appointment.   After that she kept both boys so I could go to curves and then we came home for lunch.   We went to get Caleb and then he and Bo went back to her house to play w/ her kids while I got Zeke down for nap.  I fell asleep shortly after reading my devotion and woke up later to wonder why it was so quiet!!  It’s been almost an hour an a half of quiet!   I cant believe it, I seriously owe her and her hubby big time (he’s a teacher so he’s home now too)  Dean’s working late, til who knows when tonight and again tomorrow and maybe Sunday too on this big project they’ve got going on , so I know this peace is only temporary, bu it’ so appreciated!!   Thanks so much Minda(as Zeke likes to call her!)

off to make dinner before they get back to bother me…I mean to spend time w/ me for the night!  🙂

spent some time this weekend changing some things around.   Zeke slept in a toddler bed for the first time last night, I was worried about how it would go since we had company over at bedtime and I didnt want to have to fight w/ him to keep him in his room.  So I sat next to him and rubbed his back, when I left the room he looked up at me but made no attempt to get out of his bed.   This morning I got out of bed at 8:30 worried he was making trouble in his room and unable to open the door, which he normally can open, but I still worried since he never sleeps in.  But I went in and he was just laying there, he looked at me and then finally after I walked into his room and got his clothes out he got up.   So for a first night in a new bed w/out sides to keep him in it went great!  Hoping it continues to be that way today, nap time will be the next hurdle to get over.   As far as room decor, target had these cute wall stickers, 40 different ones for $9.99.  They are trucks, cars and road signs(stop light, stop sign, etc) and words like beep beep.    There were so many that I was able to put some on his plain white dresser and it looks so adorable.   On Saturday night I went to TJMaxx to use a gift card from my in laws for my birthday and they had a kids lamp shade w/ a car on it and in the matching colors of Zeke’s new decor and it was only $3!! So for $13 I redid his room since the bed we had and Bo wasnt using it as well as the truck bed set to go w/ it.   Not a bad deal!  (some more pics up on Flickr) Bo has been sleeping in Calebs room, so they have been sharing a room since around Christmas I believe and so far that’s going well too.  So we have a spare room now too that has our old queen bed in it, so if anyone from back home wants to come visit theres plenty of room!   (plus we have a futon in the basement and a pack and play for those w/ lil’ ones!)

working my butt off, exercising for at least 30 minutes a day and counting calories. and drinking tons of water…yet lost 0 inches, 0 lbs in a month. So freaking ridiculous. My trainer said I’m probably exercising too much and not eating enough. Blah! I am so upset. I feel better, and others say I look good, and my pants fit better….and really an hour off exercise a day and no weight loss? who wouldnt be pissed off at that? not what I was expecting thats for sure.  To celebrate…baking chocolate chip cookies w/ splenda sugar and splenda brown sugar.   why diet when it’s not helping.   before I watched what I was eating and just added exercise I lost weight. So I’m thinking I might just try to not eat as much crap and stuff counting calories and see what happens.

the boys are getting bored and are out of things to keep them busy. So today while I was on the phone w/ a friend they decided they’d dump out a laundry basket I had sitting by the basement stairs full of dirty clothes and they filled it up w/ food from the fridge. They then told me they were taking their food to Zeke’s house, and together carried the filled basket to the living room. I’m bored too, so I took the time out of my bored day and took pics and took a movie clip w/ the camera. We really need to invest in one w/ sound so you can hear them talking , it was so funny. the fact I let them continue to play w/ real food in the living room is pretty funny, esp. if you know how ocd I am about having a clean orderly house. but it was such a cute and funny idea, I had to let them finish playing it out! And the plus side is they put all the food back by themselves, or really Bo put most of it back while Zeke played w/ the fridge light! now I’m trying to convince them to put the laundry back in the basket for me..that will be fun too!

As a parent one thing I’ve learned that is birthdays arent really for kids, for me they are about celebrating the love and family that created that child(person)  So today I am  excited to celebrate and thank my parents for giving me the chance to have the last 29 years of my life(and God too!)

To celebrate…first off pics!! I got a haircut last night.  When I got home I was mad and hated it.  I knew what I wanted but the stylist sucked, seriously.  She hates my hair, it’s too thick and long and she got frustrated.  but whatever.  I was determined this morning to make it work out, and with a little time, which I dont have much of w/ kids….I got the look I was going for.   that’s the only thing, with this cut I cant just wash and go…which is good since it’s freezing out and leaving w/ wet hair sucks, but also bad because I have to have time to do my hair!   But anyway…also included is pics of my size 14 waist!   I put on my pants this morning and the size 14s fit comfortably not tight at all really compared to a week or two ago.   I am getting weighed in and measured tomorrow at curves, so I’ll see how much change there has been then.   but I feel great so really that is motivation enough!

In case anyone is in a generous mood…I’d love 5 tickets to this for Zeke’s birthday!   I’d settle for tickets for me, Bo and Zeke if Dean is willing and caleb doesnt mind but chances are he will mind!

I really need a vacation.   things are not going well at all…..if I didnt have to get out of bed today I would still be there dreaming the day away.  I so wish I could go back to bed right now.   little bit depressed no doubt but mostly right now just dealing w/ a horrific migraine, again.   and then there’s the kids….and the hubby…and life sucks sometimes.
