I called my drs office Monday morning, and after talking to the nurse they scheduled me to come in on Tuesday for bloodwork including my glucose test, and for an appointment. In the two weeks since I’d been there last I hadnt gained any weight, I was happy about that. My blood pressure was better but I do indeed have an infection that was most likely the culprit of the contractions and back pain I had last week. So now I wait for the blood work results to come back. She said that if the blood work is normal than it really could just be just normal pregnancy fatigue, which is scary since I have a couple more months to go and I cant afford to be this tired all of the time!
Today we better, but only because I had things to do. I’m babysitting for my friend, which included taking her daughter to preschool. Caleb wanted to stay at the school w/ her and was sad he couldnt paint, but he got over it. He and my friends son played outside for like 45 minutes until we realized Caleb had locked us out of the house! I had to have a neighbor who just happened to have keys let us in! After heading back to the preschool for pickup we did a mcdonalds run for nuggets and fries then picniced at the state park and played at the playground. The kids had a blast and my attempt to wear them out worked !! they are all sleeping peacefully, for a little while at least, I’m hoping they all sleep well today!
I am guessing either the heat or the added workload today is making me have some pretty strong cramps/contractions again today. Once I sit down and put my feet up things seem to get better, so I am hoping I’m just overdoing it, but then again, I cant sit around w/ the laptop w/ my feet propped up all day long! at least the day is more than half over!
This last month and upcoming month have been filled w/kids birthday parties. It’s crazy to see how quick these kids are growing up. The little boy I have today, well we’ve known them for a while now and he’s getting ready to turn 2. It’s great to see him talking and getting around so much better than he did when we first met him. it’s amazing the transformation we watch kids go through. Today as I took A to school I couldnt believe that next week I’ll be taking Caleb to preschool! This is a major milestone and I am looking forward to it, and seeing how much A and some of his other friends that have started school like it so, I’m hoping he enjoys it. He wanted to stay today and play and I felt bad he couldnt but was a little glad I got to keep him with me. I think I’ll miss him when he finally goes off to school for a full day in a few years, I say that now, before I have another child to take care of too!
we may not realize it but w/ every milestone our kids go through we go through some of our own. I mean right now I can say I am the mom of a toddler still if I wanted, next week I’ll be the mom of a preschooler. In a few months I’ll be a mom to two boys! In a few years I’ll be the mom of a school age child and a preschooler. I always hated to think that one day my life would be defined by what or who my child was, but now I look forward to wearing it as a badge of honor! I’m more than happy to say I’m a preschool co-oping mom! I look forward to it and the changes it will bring in me and my son. I am hoping these first few months of school before the baby comes will help him identify w/ other kids and have an identity of his own so that when Baby B arrives he wont feel so left out or out of place because he’ll not only have our family but the family and friends from preschool. Granted the boy has friends enough w/ church social events, the child is as social as we are in things at church, but it’s a different world, the preschool world. I am expecting things to be hard to adjust to at first, but in the end I think our family is going to benefit from this milestone and it wont be long before we’re adapting to the new baby, so I think I’ll take this time to enjoy my firstborn as much as I can before I have to give a lot of my time to our secondborn!!
not sure where all that came from. I’ve had the experience this week that I’ve heard pregnant women complain about a lot but it’s something until lately I’ve had no clue what they meant, but it happened, I fell to tears over everything for days in a row. Little things. Big things. Just about anything, even just tv commercials, or heck I cried when watching an olympic wrestler retire his shoes! I dont even like wrestling! or the olympics even really. I thought women were crazy when they’d say everything is making them emotional until this week when I spent a whole day crying for what seemed to be no reason. it wasnt helped but the fact I was extremely exhausted and feeling bad, but I was a mess. I dare say I’ve never been hormonal, but not like this. I get angry when hormonal yes, but barely ever teary when moody. I dont like this part of pregnancy, not that I’ve had much good to say about pregnancy at all lately, but…I could so do w/out the added hormones. This has made an already stressful week seem unbearable and today as new challenges have arisen in several relationships I have, I am at the point to just not caring. I have a busy life already and lately a busy schedule and workload to go w/ that busy life, and now people expect me to care about high schoolish gossip and backbiting. I started the week crying over the stressors in my life, today I laugh a little and vent a little, but theres no more tears. I’m all cried out it seems. And todays problems are the types that would normally make me fall to tears, as I hate seeing people upset, especially when it has to do w/ me or affects me, but today I will not cry. heck today I could truly careless. I’ve had a great day w/ the kids and am glad I’m able to get through the day w/out an emotional tear fest, so dont try to make me cry! as long as I stay away from the country radio station and the lifetime channel I might survive this day!
what a week, and it’s only Wednesday! as long as the dr doesnt call w/ bad bloodwork results then we are heading to Ohio on Friday evening. I am looking forward to a break but am not sure I”m up for it emotionally or physically even. we’ll see how the rest of the week pans out and with any luck I’ll be able to enjoy my new neice soon and take a much needed break from the daily hassles of the life of a preschooler’s mom!
