Wisdom from my walk

I am not really jealous, just tired and bummed that he gets to have all of the fun…but Dean’s enjoying meals w/ friends and family, he went to an amusement park, a concert and has been enjoying the hot tub/jacuzzi at the hotel that his work is footing the bill for.   meanwhile, I am stuck here cleaning house, throw up covered kids and laundry, and dealing with the crap of being a homeowner.   plus a whole ton of other things I am dealing with, today I am worn out beyond belief.   I think I’m getting sick or just getting drained from all the busyness of the last week.   bought some immunity defense orange juice just in case it is the beginning of a bug.   so while I’m not really jealous, I am anxious for Dean to be home and eventually to be at our new home in Ohio, wherever that may be!  but I really hate to hear him complain about always eating out…heck I’d love to have the option and not worry about having to pay for it or at least not having to cook and clean up while caring for 3 kids.   or about being tired…he gets to sleep all night long, and I’m sure no one is waking him at 630 for a diaper change or bottle, or midnight covered in throw up ….bah on him…but really I am glad he’s got the chance to do something like this…to be with his family, to be a vital part of a new office opening, and to get some down time…god what I’d give for some relaxing down time.

I left the kids w/ my mom this afternoon, to get bloodwork done and to go get juice and baby cereal at the store.   I sat at the lab for a little over an hour until they decided the bloodwork the dr wanted is too rare and they needed someone to tell them how to order it and what they needed but that office was closed by that time of day, after my waiting to be called for them to see my paperwork, so an hour and a half later I was home w/ not having bloodwork done at all.   i grabbed two fussy kids and headed to the store while mom sat w/ zeke and waited for the guys to come pick up the new fridge we are returning.   so even though I was away from the kids for over an hour, it was not the least bit relaxing.  for once I’d love to get a sitter to do something fun and not something stressful.    we have a wedding to attend this saturday for my cousin and cant find someone to keep the kids.   I really want to go as it will be the last time I see some of them for a while due to the move…..anyone know someone looking to make some extra cash that is trustworthy and likes kids?!?!   i would take them w/ but the invite cleary stated no kids….

and then it all catches up with you….ugh!  I feel yucky.  I’ve been on the couch resting for the last hour while Zeke naps, Bo’s made a few messes but nothing he wouldnt do if I werent resting!  thank goodness my mom is coming over this afternoon so I can get Caleb without taking all the boys and go to get some bloodwork done that I was supposed to get done weeks ago.   I feel a little better now that I rested a bit but I have the worst stomachache, nothing too unusual for me though.   Dean met w/ a realtor and found our dream home, guessing it’s just out of our price range, just a tad but he’s going to talk to a financial person today about what we can afford on his salary and with a good sized down payment.   so we’ll know more after that.  still praying the house sells quickly, but as a friend said today, 3 showings in one weekend in this market is probably a good sign.  I hope so!!  well Zeke just woke up…gotta get back to mom duty.

had another showing of the house today, that makes 3 total for this weekend, thinking that’s good for the first full weekend it’s been listed.   hoping we find out soon that someone liked it!!  the folks that just came seemed to like it from what I heard, it was odd. the realtor wanted me to be here to let him in, but he was really late so I was outside playing with the kids so when they did show we could just go for a walk, so we ended up talking w/ the lady and her elder daughters (probably my age) that came to see the house.  they walked through before the realtor showed and all seemed to like it, so thats good.  I didnt hear any bad comments but who knows.   i left when the realtor showed up.  I know they were going to look at a couple more houses this afternoon and that the eldest daughter lives in our neighborhood w/ her daughter who is in first grade, but she said she goes to private schoool and asked how the school is I said we like it a lot, she said she might have to start going there since the private school is so expensive.  that was just one of the conversations I had with them.  they were very nice and loved the boys and their names, they even knew who boaz was in the bible…that’s always a plus in my book!  ;-)  5 more days til deaner is home for a week until he leaves us again.  I miss him!!!   but I’m sure you knew that! he’s meeting w/ a realtor there right now, hoping to get answers to what do we do next as far as home searching there, and the process of putting in offers w/ the contigency that we sell our home first.  i wish I could be there!   oh well, holding doing the homefront here is my current job and I think I’m doing a darn good job.

Boaz didnt get the memo, no wait, maybe he just couldnt read it…that there is to be absolutely no throwing up while Daddy is gone.   So last night when I put him to bed he got all worked up and upset and threw up all over his bed…just so you understand, he had hot dogs for dinner…needless to say I threw away the pillowcase that was full of hot dog bits.  cleaning up throw up is my biggest weakness as a mom.   Boaz throws up often…or rather more than normal.   If he gets too upset, if he coughs just one too many times…guessing he gets that from me.  I have been known to throw up after being tickled too much, seriously!

Zeke is sick, he’s so congested.   I am thinking he may need to go to the dr tomorrow.  He isnt wanting to drink.  the dr was already concerned with is weight, he’s not gaining enough.   But I knew something wasnt right because he’s just not interested in bottles anymore.  he’ll eat rice cereal w/ formula in it but that’s about the only way he’s getting the most of his formula these days.   he just doesnt want to drink, dont know if it started as a result of the congestion or not, but I am pretty sure it preceeded the congestion.

caleb is doing awesome.  I was worried how he’d take Dean leaving, when Dean left last year for Katrina relief Caleb was often unconsolable and didnt want to go to school.  this time he has acted fine, occassionally asks or talks about daddy but often times not.   Boaz walked in my room yesterday when waking up and said “where’s daddy” when he gets upset he asks for Daddy.

well gotta run..the kids need me…

our phone works really but I’m either busy or exhausted or both….3 kids can do that to you when they are all yours 24-7!! I know I should be calling friends to check in but I’m just so busy.  I was out all day today and yesterday.   Home now for the evening, going to bake some cookies. it’s a cookies kind of day…rainy, cool.  the weekend is looming ahead of me. no plans but church and a rainy weekend means the kids will be cooped up all day inside.  thinking we’ll at least head to chickfila for the play land for a bit, or the mall w/ a playground if I have the energy.   I am promising myself to be in bed when the kids are tonight.  cleaned today and yesterday for a good part of the day( not our house, our church, so at least I’ll be getting paid some!)  so I am worn out to say the least.   been getting up before 7 a.m. since Dean’s been gone and it’s hard to sleep without him here and last night I was up sick half of the night…so today I’m even more tired. gotta run bo is standing on zeke!!

wohoo!! everything is fixed!! there’s a guy at our church who is an electrician and he came this morning and fixed the outlet for the fridge as well as our stove hood that has never worked.   it makes sense when he said that the electric for it was run w/ the ceiling fan because until our friend worked on that light/ceiling fan it didnt work either…so now everything is working.    and free of charge.  we can return the new fridge and save $500…that’s a huge blessing.   now I need to run to work…gotta clean the church.   now maybe I can buy some groceries, we havent had any in days. so so far today is looking up! and i even talked to my sweetie this morning so that’s nice too, and he said they might send him home sooner than we thought but then have it come back out again sooner.  who knows, so far we are doing ok, even with the craziness. I am tired but the kids are happy, fed mostly(it’s been a lot of fast food!) the house is clean (show ready as I like to call it) the laundry is all done and I’m exhausted but doing ok.   so off to clean for someone else today!  at least that keeps my house clean all day!

we have the old fridge working in the kitchen, the new one is going to be returned.  still need an electrician to fix the fridge outlet….we are using a different outlet hoping it can support the fridge.
