Wisdom from my walk

I thought I could do it. really, 6 kids isnt that hard right, folks do it?   but after spending a little over an hour trying to get S to get back to sleep I called my friend at 2 am to come get him.  I hated to do it but I know I needed sleep for a busy day today and I just couldnt stay up and hold him all night like he wanted!   This morning I got up, showered and got dinner in the crockpot. And I did manage to get 5 kids to church, just a little late, ran into some friends, and headed to lunch w/ all the kids.  Frisches was too busy for 5 kids and me alone so we went to skyline, more expensive but the kids were angels and lunch was good.  After that we dropped off my niece and headed home in a horrible heavy rain.  The guy from yesterday is coming w/ in the hour to get Shea.   This evening I am going to a serve thing for church..will explain in a different post and my friend is keeping the kids for me.    busy day and I’m soooo tired!!  the plus side…dinner cooking in the slow cooker is making the house smell good and Shea may find a new home today.   and….now there are only 3 kids here, well currently 2, Caleb went to play w/ a friend, and one is sleeping…so it’s a lot calmer now! wohoo!

some say I’m crazy…..and it’s probably true!  Today we went to the zoo w/ our friends and our niece went as well.  It’s nice having an extra set of hands around, plus I love her so much!! she’s the girl I’ll never have!  After that we came home for dinner and our friends were leaving their kids for a sleepover so that they could get in a nice night out.   So far it’s going splendidly!!   The little ones, Zeke and S (14 months I think), were in bed around 8, Zeke first then S.   The bigger kids stayed up a bit for popcorn and a movie.  Friends stopped by since they were in the neighborhood at 830ish, which was cool, but it wasnt til afterward it hit me how messy the house was when they came!! but I had 6 kids and dinner dishes were clean so it wasnt that bad I suppose!!

oh yeah…while I had 5 kids, was making chicken on the grill and boiling hot water for hot chocolate….a guy came to meet Shea. he loves her but is going to come back tomorrow w/ his girlfriend.  he said he would love to take her today but wants to clear it w/ the SO, and I said from the female standpoint I totally think thats a good idea!!   So tomorrow I’ll take 5 kids to church w/ me, where I’ll get a one hour break to sit in the service thanks to Sunday school….wohooo!!  then after that I think we might go to Frisch’s for lunch, free kids meal coupons for all!    then the guy will come see Shea again, and hopefully I’ll get Laura home early enough that we can have dinner and settle in for a quiet evening so I can get loads of laundry put away!

it nevers ends…planning to get to bed before midnight tonight so I have to go finish up some chores, praying their little guy sleeps through the night.   I have to say it’s been a great day, even w/ 6 kids!!  they are good kids so that helps!

I’m amazed how well things are going honestly…waiting for the other shoe to drop as it usually does, maybe this time will be different!   hosting a playdate here on Monday(say it again w/ me folks, she’s crazy!) and the rest of the days are pretty busy up until Dean comes home on Friday then things get REALLY busy w/ holiday stuff and serving for church events and cub scouts and….the list goes on and on….and I just want to sleep …just a little….

14 days til Bo’s birthday and I have no birthday party plans! aahhh….maybe we just wont throw a party. I’m going to do a special snack at preschool so I guess that could kind of be like his party! plus we’ll all be together for Thanksgiving…I dont think he’s old enough to care, as long as he gets his drum set he keeps begging for and a cake! 😉

ordered these train cupcake molds from JcPenney.  I went to the store but they didnt have them, but I did get something there and after filling out an online survey got a code for 15 % off so I figured that would pay for some of the shipping costs!  it was cheaper to have it shipped to the store so I’ll pick it up there when they call and say that they have it.  excited to see how the cupcakes will turn out.  Hoping nicely since I will probably make them to take for snack at preschool for his birthday.

Just put an ad on craigslist to try to rehome Shea.  We swore we’d never get another dog that we would give away.  but here we are again.  sadly not all dogs are as perfect as Ginger.  caleb saw what I was doing online looking for a pic of Shea to post and is now mad at me.  He doesnt need this now while he’s already mad and sad about Dean being gone.  but I also cant continue to keep up w/ this dog gone craziness, esp. w/ three kids!   I love Shea, she’s a beautiful dog and everyone who comes to our house says how great both dogs are.  and she’s awesome w/ the kids.  but…..she really needs a fenced  yard, which we cant afford.  heck dog food for two costs more than for just one even!    it’s going to be sad for the kids but I think Dean and I will be glad to have more freedom w/ just Ginger around!  not sure how Ginger will take it, last night while Shea was gone from midnight til 2 am Ginger kept whining because she knew shea was out.   gotta run. the boys are fighting…as I type this Shea is chewing up one of the kids little people! as caleb argued w/ me about it, I pointed that out to him, I said as we sit here w/ her right in front of us she’s chewing up your toys. and he just nodded and walked away.

all I have to say is I hope Dean likes it. some women freak out when their hubbys will be out of town. I’ve learned that it means evenings spent at home while the kids sleep having a few hours to do what I want to do. Needless to say Tuesday night(god knows why since i felt horrible, well I couldnt sleep cause my sinuses hurt so bad anyway…) I painted the downstairs and upstairs hallway. Last night I painted the first living area when you walk in the front door. Sadly I love the paint color and finish but I am not sure I love how well it matches w/ the furniture. Since I need a slipcover as is since the dog ate up most of the couch cushion I may just use that as my excuse to get some slipcovers to make the room work better color wise. I was debating trying to buy fabric and “reupholster” it myself, they do it on those tv room makeovers all of the time! but w/ kids it would need to be removable to be cleaned. I was thinking maybe some fabric and velcro just might do the trick. and would probably be cheaper than slipcovers. I cant post pics because # 1 I want Dean to be suprised and # 2 he took the camera w/ him! not sure why since he’s yet to post or email pics !!
