 I got a guitar from Dean and he got a new MP3player.  We hosted lunch w/ his family today and it was relaxing and fun.    Not too much else to say….sorry!

Merry Christmas!!

Today my gyn gave me a great Christmas gift, I am cleared and am able to return to normal activities!  He said everything has healed great and was impressed w/ how good my scar looked.   I am feeling well except for a stomach bug and my normal fatigue which is getting better by the day!    expect pics and a real entry tomorrow!

My mom arrived Thursday afternoon from Baltimore via plane and car pick up from my friend since I wasn’t up to the drive and had a doctors appointment.  Friday night we all attended Caleb’s first play ( which Dean was in as well)  Saturday morning after exchanging Christmas gifts w/ my mom, we went to the Jingle Bell shop event at Caleb’s school where the boys got their pic taken w/ Santa then came home and the boys played in the snow! That afternoon all of the gang(minus Zeke and I) went to a nursing home for Caleb’s for choir concert after which they decorated Chrstimas cookies there.   Saturday evening Dean and Caleb had the play again and the rest of us sat inside shivering watching the snow falling outside then afterwards, Dean, Caleb and I went to a cast party til midnight!   Sunday we had church and went out to lunch and shopping.   Monday my mom went home, thankfully my friend again drove, but this time I went w/!   Last night same friend and I went to a scholastic warehouse sale where most stuff was 50% off!!  Got some gifts for the boys for Christmas.  No plans today but the boys are now bathed and ready to go….wish I felt like I was ready for anything….more pics on my Flickr account

but really, I’d settle for having the bills paid, being out of debt and having money to buy the kids presents w/out going into more debt….

this time last year we had no debt other than our mortgage, we are now thousands in debt all because money has been so tight we’re charging medical expenses(that was a nice chunk this year!), groceries, gas, car repairs, home repairs, and whatever else we have to because we have no savings.   I hate being in debt but more than anything I hate not knowing how to fix this!!  we were doing so well!   after Christmas gifts no more charging anything, even if that means eating oodles of noodles and pbj all the time…..the kids are not going to like it, and neither am I but it’s life I suppose….should be fun!

We had Dean’s family over for Thanksgiving dinner this evening,  now Dean and I are enjoying the peace and quiet and laying in bed.  It seems like it was a long day but I don’t think it was any different than any other, we were just busy!

we had dinner then invited our some neighbors to sing happy birthday and share cake and ice cream w/ us to celebrate Bo’s birthday.   It was low key and a perfect way to celebrate!  Bo was thrilled w/ his gifts we gave him, an MP3 player just like Calebs(Dean found them on sale for $15 each so you can’t beat that! and at the time bought two since it was such a good deal!)  , a knight costume (got it for 75% off after halloween and put it up for a gift), and some activity books.   Grandmom McKenzie took him shopping today and he got a tool box w/ tools and our friends/neighbors got him more tools, so his tool box is filled, which is great so theres enough of each thing he and Zeke don’t have to fight over the same tool!   I am hoping to get him a workbench w/ money sent from my dad’s parents and some extra cash from us.    He has been into the tool thing lately, he’s been using Dean’s tools at toys so we knew that we had to do something about his hobby that was safer!   He has been carrying his tool box all over the house all day working on things!   Nice to have a handyman in the family!  🙂

 

So here’s the much waited for 4 year old birthday boy picture !  I made a quick Bob the builder cake and all the boys are dying to dig in, but they are going to have to wait til after dinner!
