Wisdom from my walk

I want a break from the craziness!!! Today’s highlights, Caleb threw up in the car. Dean left work early to head to another office to do some work there, he planned on coming home early afterward, when he went to leave the van wouldnt start. The van we just spent $5++.00 on to fix. He tried to jump it, it didnt work. I was cleaning today, with three kids since I had one who was threw up and didnt want to chance him getting anyone else sick considering I had an upset stomach I figured we might have the stomach bug, again, you know the one we had a week or two ago? So…..I had no idea where I was going, but Dean gave me directions. It took me an hour and a half to get to pick Dean up, by that point I was way beyond mad and frustrated. We left the van there, went to dinner and shopped a bit then came home. Once home we thought Zeke felt warm, he’s been fussy a lot this last week and today slept a lot but wasnt interested in eating very much. His temp is currently 101.2. I am way beyond stressed. We have no van, again. I’ve only driven it once in the last 3 weeks. We were going to load it up and make a run to the dump tomorrow so we could empy out the last room that needs work in the basement. now we dont know what to do. No van, again. Dont want to spend more money on it since we just forked out tons on it, and we cant even get it running to get it to a shop. I am so upset about all of this. So we’re dealing with Dean finding out he’s getting laid off, 2 sick kids, only one working vehicle that is a snug fit w/ three kids in carseats and even then it’s running strangely too. on top of that no one is being supportive of our needing to move soon, ok, not that many people. I have no one to call to talk to about it who wont be too upset with me about moving away from them, so instead dean and I had a nice spat today. I’m just at my limit, and then after cleaning for 6 hours( it would have taken 5 maybe even 4 1/2 hours without the kids, I even had a sitter lined up for once, but Caleb threw up!!) my back is killing me again. I was fine I thought but then as we walked around the mall for just a few minutes I was gripping the stroller becuase the pain was so bad. I am just sick of dealing with so much at one time, and now I feel like no one is going to be supportive of us during this extremely stressfull time. Anyone got a million dollars to spare, or at least a truck to help us get some things to the dump?? BAHHHHHHH, I just want one day to enjoy and be happy and painfree would be nice to!! we have a wedding to attend tomorrow afternoon, but I’m guessing that depends on how well Zeke is doing. Dean has to work all day Sunday which will leave me carless since we just have one working vehicle now. ok, I’m done whining. Arent fridays supposed to be fun!?!?!?!

well…we’ve been waiting and waiting to hear about a job in Ohio for Dean. today we got news we never expected, Dean’s getting laid off from his current position. As of Oct 31st he will not have a job. About 200 people are affected by this and they’ve been told theres potential to stay within the company or go w/ the company who will be subcontracted by his current company to do Deans job. But, upper management pulled Dean aside after the announcement and said they’ve been in contact with someone who’s just relocated to Cincinnati from Las Angeles to manage the new facility there. they will more than likely have a job for Dean there at the new office opening there, but he’ll be doing something different than he does currently. The new office opens the 2nd week in October. He’s getting a few weeks severance pay but our biggest concern now is making sure he has a job to go to. the whole time we were planning on his tranferring within the company to Ohio it never crossed our minds that his current job would fail to be here while we waited. So now there’s truly nothing holding us back as far a job here, it’s just needing a job to go to!! We’ll know more in the next week as they are ramping up the need for folks in Cincinnati as the opening date gets closer.
So…things have changed pretty quickly, but in a scary way!! We’ll be talking to a realtor tomorrow and probably will have our house for sale a lot sooner than we expected. There’s also a chance Dean will go to Ohio ahead of the kids and I to stay with his family and work as soon as he can there.

After reading this I’m hopeful Dean and I can pull it off…I wish I could motivate him to help me SOON!!   Anyone else handy to help???  I really want it done, I am so inpatient I know.   I dont know why I hate the wallpaper so badly, afterall we put it up ourselves when we first moved in, not sure why we didnt just paint, I love the new painted dining room, just finished up the trim work and just waiting for it to dry to remove the tape.  I will try to get a finished picture up w/ all the tape gone and furniture back in place tomorrow.

one of the last projects we’ll do, that is something I want done really badly, is tiling the kitchen backsplash.   But since I couldnt start that on my own without hubby and through the day w/ the kids, I worked on preparing to paint the bottom half of the wall in the dining room.  I consulted w/ my friend about color, she’s an interior designer!  And we both agreed on a color that would compliment both the new living room furniutre, which actually does matter since the rooms are so open, as well as the green paint in the living room.  I got some new valances yesterday and the paint last night, so Dean painted for me, I did the primer coat despite my painful back so he felt bad for me I suppose and painted the purplish color for me.   It’s not done yet but I had to share how great it’s starting to look!!   I’m so excited, not gonna want to move the house is getting so nice!!

Last fall I believe I encouraged Dean to send his resume to Toby’s Dinner Theater, in hopes he could get a job doing what he loves, working in a theater.   Months went by and no one ever called.   Today someone called!! They offered him a job but he didnt ask how much it would pay, but he did tell them he’d work on the weekends when needed.  So he’s working this Sunday for 7 hours I think.   He agreed to work Saturday and still doesnt know what it pays.   I am encouraging him to see what it pays if he does it full time and ditches his “real” job.  Too bad it probably wouldnt pay enough to pay the bills.    but I’m so excited  that he can at least get his foot in the door and hoping I can manage another day with him gone all day.   Speaking of which…my dr called, she’s ordering an MRI of my back, someone should call me tomorrow to schedule it.   She said since the steroids helped some she’s hopeful that I wont need surgery to fix it, that I might be ok after a steroid injection in my back and physical therapy.  neither is appealing, but surgery is so not possible right now, and I’d deal with the pain rather than get it done.  So we’ll know more after an MRI and hopefully it’s nothing physical therapy cant fix.

What great news!!  I was thinking if we do move to Ohio, we would load up what furniture we have and then stop at Ikea for new furniture to take with us, looks like now I might be able to just shop there when we get there.  That would be sooo cool.
