Wisdom from my walk

What a wonderful day!! (despite my being sick)   this morning the moms group met at the Christian book store for story time.   then we let the kids play at the indoor playground, they have several at that mall.   Then we all had lunch together.  everyone left but I wanted to go to the Lane Bryant outlet store.   I got some major steals, 60% off!!

Right now Zeke is asleep.  Caleb is playing w/ 3 of his friends who live on our street.  They all end up here all of the time, it’s so good for him.   there’s twin girls his age, and a boy.   I got Caleb a soccer goal that came w/ a ball, he missed a lot of practices and has a game tonight.   So he and his friends were playing, I made them line up, take turns kicking and being in goal.  I think I may sign up to be a coach for his age group next year, I enjoy it and I love soccer.

I also put up the new infant/toddler swing I got with Zeke’s birthday money.   Bo loves to swing.   Caleb has to be at soccer early tonight for pictures and then a game.  I think we’ll eat dinner after those things.  We need to invest in a lawnmower and outdoor stuff this weekend, today is the warmest it has been in a while, and even then it’s only 50 out.  Tomorrow there could be snow!   I loved those 80 degree days a few weeks ago and cant wait for them to come back.

I love being a stay at home mom so I can be here to be with my kids after school.  Apparently I’m the only parent who doesnt mind keeping an eye on others kids, or the only one home this time of day.  i dont mind, I’d rather be the one supervises then knowing my kid is out playing unsupervised.   They are fun to watch and play with.

It’s afternoons spent outside w/ the kids and their friends that makes being a stay at home mom worthwhile.

currently they are all drawing w/ chalk in our driveway while I type this.  they talk about the craziest things!  they are so silly.

well I need to go grab a jacket, now that I’m not sitting in the sun I’m chilly.

hope everyone has a good weekend!  hoping I get over this stomach thing sometime soon so I can better enjoy our weekend.

Dean’s company made an announcement this week about upcoming layoffs.  It’s  a huge deal and I was so worried about Dean’s job.  Today he found out none of the employees at his site are losing their jobs.  Pray it stays that way!!

Everyone’s feeling better.  My fibromyalgia is becoming a bigger problem again, I am so tired all of the time.  and I’m having more headaches than usual.   going to give it a few more days and if the headaches keep up I’ll go to the dr.  at least no one is throwing up ….I’d hate to feel this way and have sick kids!!

back to work…well not quite.  Dean and Caleb got up and ready to head back to work and school.  I called Dean while he was at the school fighting w/ caleb because he didnt want to stay, he said his stomach hurt.  he hasnt thrown up since Sunday night so dean made him stay.  I made Dean come home to spare me from dealing w/ the kids while I ‘m sick.  I dont have it as bad as everyone else, my biggest complaints are back and stomach pain and feeling so extremely tired.  My back hurts so bad I could barely stand up straight.  whenever my stomach is upset my back hurts too, it’s so annoying.   So Dean’s home to help me today, but right now he’s sleeping, he came to lay in bed w/ me while i watched tv and laid on the heating pad, but Bo decided he’d rather play downstairs and since Dean was asleep I had to get up.  Luckily Zeke is napping.   hoping I dont get the throw up part of this bug.  so far Dean hasnt, just has an upset stomach. Fun stuff….well I guess Bo headed back upstairs…gotta see what he’s up to.

we went to bed late.  this morning Dean tells me he was up most of the night with sick kids, lucky for me I slept through it all…poor Dean.  He’s sleeping in while I finish up cleaning, packing and laundry (from all that throw up!)  Hoping we head out before it’s too late in the day.   So far no throw up this morning, except a little by Zeke.  Caleb seems fine, fingers crossed.    Just called to tell my mom and grandparents we’re leaving early.   It’s kind of sad.   but I dont think going anywhere w/ the kids is a good idea, heck driving 9 hours w/ sick kids isnt a good idea but I just want to be home before anyone else gets sick.

Happy Easter !!

well things just keep getting crazier.   Friday night we went to meet friends for dinner.  During dinner Zeke threw up all over.  We got home and he had a fever.   He didnt throw up again so we decided to go ahead and go to my brothers house today, 2 hours away.   On the way there Dean and I felt sick but never got sick.  Dean took a 2 hour nap while there, as did Zeke.   we had dinner then headed home.  Dean got the kids bathed and in bed while I went to do “easter basket” shopping.  I came home cleaned up the house, our friends headed to VA for Easter so it’s just us so I want it to be clean when they get back.   So after cleaning some I went down to our room where Bo was laying.

he woke up and threw up all over the bed.   Now I dont know what to do about our Easter day plans.  I think we’re just going to drive back home to Ohio tomorrow.  I’m afraid by tomorrow night more of us will be puking and I’d much rather be dealing with that in my own home.   So we never got to see my dads family and I hate that.   but I know we shouldnt go anywhere with whatever bug this is we have going round.   I’m hoping we didnt give it to too many others but the truth is we had to be given it by someone here since we’ve been here for over a week and are just now getting sick.   so chances are others either have it and gave it to us or are going to get it soon.  fun stuff…

what a happy easter…hoping not too many others are heading home tomorrow so we can get home quickly and safely.  i am sick of doing throw up laundry, esp. when it’s washing others bed linens.   I feel so horrible about it.

it’s been a busy week.   Yesterday we went to the aquarium w/ my friend, her kids , my brother and his family and my mom.   We came home for a bit to rest then went to meet another friend for dinner near our old home.  We drove by the old house, it felt so strange.  they had cut down the big tree in the front yard, it was a beautiful tree when in full bloom as it should have been right about this time of year.   Oh well, they’ll never know how pretty it was or how nice it was to have it block your neighbors from seeing you hanging out on your deck.  to each his own I suppose.

I’ve had a sore throat off and on all week, this morning dean was nice enough to let me sleep in.  I’ve been hurting and tired, no doubt from all the stuff I’ve been doing this week.  We’re taking the morning to relax then going to the mall to meet my mom, I brought an easter outfit anticipating nice warm weather, so I need something else to wear!  plus I need to get caleb a sweatshirt or something, I didnt pack enough warm clothes for the boys.   then tonight we’re meeting more friends for dinner.  tomorrow we’re heading to my brothers, it’s his 30th birthday and his son’s 7th birthday.   On Sunday we’re going to our old church then spending the afternoon with my dads family.

I called my dad yesterday.   He’s sick.  really sick.  His cardiologist wanted him to be admitted to the hospital again yesterday but he said no.   he said if he’s not there on Sunday then he’s at the hospital.  I am hoping our kids get to see him and not at the hospital!

well I am so tired, think I’ll lay down a bit before our busy afternoon.  we’re heading back home on Monday.   it’s been a great week.   I have loved staying w/ my best friend and her family.  it’s so comfortable and I feel at home.   despite there being 6 kids in the house, it’s great.  I love being able to spend so much time w/ my friend, I was really missing her while we were gone.  I’m sure it would be hard for me again once we leave, but at least we had a week together!

sounds like bo needs a nap…gotta go…

can it be  true?  I have my 3 kids plus my friends 3 kids, ages 8 months, 4 and 6.   So a total of 6 kids today.  I have managed to keep them outside most of the morning.   I made them have snack outside on the deck while I put the littlest two down for nap at the same time, tried to at least!!  the little guys are sleeping, and the rest are outside enjoying the beautiful day.  I’ve gotten 2 loads of laundry done, the kitchen cleaned up some, the floor cleaned and so far no major catastrophes.   I’m aiming to walk them all to mcdonalds for lunch, they have an outdoor playground there.  it will prove interesting, the goal is to avoid another mess here that I have to clean up.  After lunch is quiet time for bo and I’m thinking I’ll let the bigger ones watch a movie since they’ve been so good all morning.  the little guys should take another nap later too.   Dean and my friend aim to be home “before 4″  praying it’s closer to 3!!  so far so good though.  heck I am even sitting here blogging, how nuts.  maybe I can handle more kids, somedays at least!!   for a little while this morning with two crying babies and kindergartners begging me to let them paint I thought I was gonna lose it but it’s since settled down and so far everyone is happy.  and I’m not dead tired yet!  so wohoo for a good morning and praying for an easy afternoon!
