Finally!!

Zeke has passed some of his therapy goals, she changed some to different goals today.  He is now able stand up for a few seconds without holding onto anything.  One of his goals was to walk w/a  push toy, today he did that great at therapy.  Previous attempts with that at home had failed, but he did great today!  so just now I got him to try and he again stood unassisted and later walked w/ the push toy!!  last week things werent looking so good and she said it may take 3 months, but this week she was hopeful and said if he continues to progress this quickly then in a week or two he’ll be walking!!  he’ll be 13 months old next week.  as long as he walks before 15 months it’s good she says.   but she did say if we didnt start the therapy and orthotics he wouldnt be walking anytime soon.  She said Bo and Zeke are examples of what early intervention(E.I) can do.  Zeke is doing great w/ E.I.. helping him, but Bo is almost 2 1/2 (next week) and Bo is still having problems because he didnt get E.I.  they are both getting evaluated on Monday by therapist that work for the county program to see if they qualify, but at this point the only thing Bo could get is free preschool.  but I guess that’s better than nothing.  he still walks and runs funny and isnt talking properly.   so we’ll see how things go Monday.  At least we can see definite improvements in Zeke, I only hope the delay of care for Bo doesnt leave him behind for years to come once he starts school.
