Wisdom from my walk

when we visited Susan in MD for Easter we left early because our kids were throwing up and it made for a horrible visit w/ sick kids!!   sooo….on Tuesday night they arrived here at 11:30 P.M. and Bo awoke at midnight and threw up til around 2 a.m.   the next morning he was fine and has been ever since.  Fast forward to today….their youngest started throwing up this afternoon for a few hours and has seemed fine since eating a few hours ago and has been sleeping fine as well.   about 10 min. ago their eldest woke up and is throwing up.  so on Monday Zeke threw up once, Bo threw up for 2 hours through the night, their two have thrown up and now we wait to see if Zach and Caleb will be spared….so far no adults are sick.  BUT I’m on an antibiotic so hoping it spares me….they are driving home tomorow afternoon and I’d hate to have any of them sick on the way home….lovely ….I so HATE throw up!!!

Pics up on Flickr as always….we had a great Thanksgiving. half of the day was spent at home hanging out and getting food ready, then we headed to Dean’s sisters house for the family dinner. afterward we sang Happy Birthday to Bo and played Apples to Apples before coming home to put the kids to bed. it was a fun day and we’re all exhausted! having a good visit w/ our friends and a relaxing few days off of work for all. but it sure is tricky feeding 6 kids! 🙂

PS I snowed tonight while we were hanging out w/ family after dinner. it was pretty cool, the kids really enjoyed that!

I dont know about you but for me a trip to the dentist never ends well.    I went to the dentist this morning.   Turns out I need a root canal!  I have an appt next Thursday for a consult. Not sure when the actual root canal will be, but I’m dreading it.  I’m on antibiotics for now and tons of ibuprofen.  As long as I avoid hots and colds, eating that is, then it’s not too horrible.

We spent the day hanging out w/ our friends from MD.  I had the pleasure of working out at curves w/ S.   It’s something we’ve never done together and was pretty fun!   We took all the kids to Picture people to get pics done today, that was loads of fun ( 🙂 ) but there were some really good ones.   then we had dinner and after we got the kids in bed the adults stayed up to play some board games, which is always fun!

tomorrow we’ll be cooking and heading to Dean’s sisters for dinner.   We’ll probably do some more board games tomorrow evening.  Just a laid back visit, which is nice.

well off to bed w/ all of us…we’re all exhausted.

our friends from MD arrived shortly before midnight last night.  As we were talking Bo woke up and threw up.  he continued to wake up and throw up til about 2 a.m.  Thankfully dean was able to deal w/ the bulk of that since I am no good w/ throw up!   then the big kids woke up at 6 a.m and have been awake since.  they havent seen each other in a long time so they are trying to catch up on time I suppose!  we’re all gonna need an afternoon nap at this rate!

I have a dentist appt at 8 a.m.   I’ve had horrible toothaches since Dean was gone and yesterday was just unbearable.  So doing the dreaded and going to get this mess overwith…or started since I know  I really need to get my wisdom teeth pulled so I need to see what the process is for that.  Going to do that sometime in the new year, wohoo!  🙂

off to check on blueberry muffins and see what the big kids are doing being so noisy this morning!

bah! we met w/ a family yesterday and I was going to start watching their 21 mo. old next week.  but after thinking about the hours – 10 hrs/day Mon-Thurs and 4 hrs on Friday I realized the rate I had originally said was really off, really off even!  in order to watch him I’d have to stop taking thr boys to preschool and probably stop going to moms group.  I was going to have to sacrifice a lot for barely any money considering I’d be feeding him too.   I feel badly now that it didnt work out but also want to know my time and care would be appreciated and at that rate I wouldnt feel that way.   the woman I was paying to keep Bo and Zeke as needed charged me $5/hour per child, and that’s what I asked for today from this family, but apparently that’s a far cry from what local rates are, um…this lady who watches my kids live less than a mile from here?   but whatever.  today the woman said that that’s as expensive as day care centers, and I truly doubt that…but whatever.   oh well….I guess I’ll have to keep looking for a way to make some extra money.   maybe find someone who needs part time care.

Dean’s home!!  I couldnt stop smiling as we laid in bed last night…life is so much better when your favorite person in the world is by your side!    just a few more days and my other favorite person will be here visiting…life is going to be great next week!!  I am sooo excited!!
