I thought refinancing a house was supposed to be easier than buying the house! apparently not! we closed on our refi. at the end of June we are still waiting to get back the money we had in escrow from the old mortgage. I called today and the old mortgage company apologized because they didnt know why a check hadnt been sent yet. So hopefully w/in a week we’ll truly be done dealing w/ the refi. It took such a long time and we keep getting checks from our creditors because the unreliable refi company overpaid on our accts they paid off w/ money from the refi. yes it’s good to get money back but all of that money is money that was added to our new loan to pay off the mortgage and credit accts, so really we are getting cash in hand when that money could have been taken off the total amt of the mortgage. I so hate the company who did our refi and so does Dean, it was the worst experience ever. Apparently the loan officer we were working w/ isnt even w/ the company anymore, and it’s only been a month, it’s no wonder though because he sucked at his job! He so screwed us over and it soooo makes me mad. A word of advice dont mess w/ a pregnant woman’s finances unless you are going to fix them! Argh!

needless to say we are at least more out of debt than we were before the refi but really all we ended up doing was consolidated the debt w/ a lower interest rate. we were hoping to get cash back to do house repairs but the loan officer screwed up so badly that we ended up w/ no money for house repairs, and one of the big balance credit cards we were supposed to pay off we werent able to because they didnt run the numbers right.

ok enough griping about money. I really need to be working on party prep for Caleb’s big 3 year old bash! but I’m not. One thing I’m becoming really good at in this pregnancy is procrastination. I’m either too tired or throwing up to stay on track. but other than that things are going well w/ baby B. I love the new nursery and wish we could use the room now, it’s sooo cute! the room will be in use this weekend when my sister in law and her newborn are here, and possible another new mom will be here w/ her infant, so that was kind of my rush, having all the baby stuff in one room for when my new nephew comes to visit. So really it’s being prepared for Baby B and also having a convenient place for when friends or family w/ new babies come to visit us.

I really need to work on something today, but I doubt I will! Hope everyone is having a good week!

A Baby Story

When I wasn’t pregnant I’d always cry over episodes of “A Baby Story” Today as I watched an episode w/ a c-section delivery I was filled w/ fear instead of awe over the experience. In 16-17 weeks I’ll be more than likely having a c-section! The epidural really shouldn’t be a big deal to me, as I’ve had so many spinal taps, but my last spinal was such a bad experience I worry that the dr will have trouble putting in the epidural which could make for a not so fun experience. Then the whole surgery thing I am not prepared for. I know I have time to mentally prepare for this, but right now I think I’d rather give the VBAC a try instead! The only reason I wouldnt want to try a VBAC because w/ Caleb I was induced and I still ended up w/ a c-section and I’m afraid that will happen again if I try to deliver vaginally. What a mess. I really should stop watching this show, it’s definitely not helping me at this point!!

Change of Scenery

Friday night I went out w/ a friend shopping while our hubby’s took the kids out to the mall w/ them. It was a nice night except I spent a lot of money on scrapbooking supplies! Saturday morning I did some major re-organizing of our kitchen cabinets while Dean slept in and Caleb played on the puter. When Dean finally awoke he started taking our computer room apart and putting the desks, puter and paraphenelia to my office in the basement. After he worked long and hard on that, while I worked on cleaning up the rest of the house, we took Caleb to the park for his first experience fishing. it was way too hot out though and after fishing and playing at that playground we were covered in sweat! After that we went to Walmart to get paint for the baby room. Last Saturday while Dean babysat the kids another friend and I went yard saling and to pick out paint swatches for the baby room, so this week we were prepared w/ what colors we wanted we just needed the paint. Finally home in time for a nice dinner, we ate, then I painted the first two walls of the baby room while Caleb and Dean went to the game store to get some game Dean’s been wanting.

Last night I painted one wall blue and the adjacent wall orange. Today I painted the other two opposite walls green and yellow. I am amazed I painted the whole room myself and no touch ups are needed! the major project was the closet which still needs paint. I primed it today but it still didnt cover up some bright red permanent marker the previous occupants put there. So that will be a chore to finish. Other than that the room is looking great! we got the furniture put back, well the baby furniture that is! so now the nursery is almost ready except for clothes and the closet that still needs work. I love the colors and even though I was worried at first about having 4 different colors on the walls, am so happy w/ our decision because it looks great ! that worst part about 4 colors is we bought a gallon of each color and have a ton of paint left! but I needed some paint for the basement living area too so some of the color may be useful there. So take a look at the pics and let me know what you think! I am sooo in love w/ the room, but from the before you can see it’s a major change and I’m all about major repaint jobs! next room I’d love to do is our bedroom. I actually picked out some paint colors this weekend but I doubt that is a project that will get done anytime soon.

so all in all I had a very busy weekend. the highlight of my weekend is knowing a good friend moved from Florida to our area and I will see her hopefully tomorrow for the first time in years. I am very excited to see her but I think she needs a lot of help getting her new place ready and I think I may have already overdone it this weekend w/ all the work I probably shouldnt have been doing! but oh well, the baby is still kicking away and my belly is still constantly growling for food so I think Baby B is doing fine even if I’m wearing myself out! Enjoy the pics and I’ll try to get some up later this week of Caleb’s fishing fun!

We spent most of today taking our current computer room and moving the furniture out so we can make that room our nursery. To my suprise before bed I was able to paint 2 of the walls in the baby room, the new computer room still needs organized but it’s not that bad. So hopefully before the week is over the nursery will be painted and and we can start setting up baby stuff!! Dean wanted to wait longer to work on the room but I keep worrying that the end of this pregnancy will get difficult as my first did and I’d rather be involved in preparing the baby room then not so nows a perfect time. We’ve decided to just stick w/ the John Lennon set we had from when Caleb was a baby for this baby too so expenses for that stuff is well there is none, so I figured we could afford to spend the money on decorating instead!

Next week is Calebs 3rd Birthday party! i cant believe it’s been 3 + years since it was Caleb kicking from w/in my belly, now I am enjoying my little boy and a baby in my belly. It’s amazing! Caleb is excited about us painting the baby room but I dont think he really understands it, he keeps saying things are for “my” baby. I keep telling him it’s all of ours, daddy, mine and his. That we will all have the baby. I know he’s young and it’s cute to see him talk to my belly or the other day he even kissed it!

well it’s been a very long and busy day and we are all wiped out! Amidst the break we gave ourselves today we took Caleb fishing for the first time. we took pics but I probably wont be able to get them up for a few days, after Dean sets up the regular puter in the new office – right now only our laptop is online which is fine for most things, like updating here but not so good at posting pics. Hope everyone else has a good weekend!

Anyone thirsty?

Tonight our young adult ministry at church had our first Servant Evangelism outreach. We went to a park in Columbia and handed out free sodas, water, and bubble gum packs to anyone who wanted it. There were a lot of people there and we handed out about 70 bottles of water, and at least 50 bottles (20 oz size) of coke/diet coke and who knows how many packs of gum. Almost every night in the summer the Columbia Association holds free events in and around Columbia. Tonight there was a concert in the park so there were quite a few people to reach out to. Almost everyone w/ us was there for their first experience w/ Servant Evangelism and overall the response was more positive than negative. A few people still cant believe they were told no to their offers of FREE coke or gum. But for the most part we gave out more than we didnt. Caleb thorougly enjoyed himself and wanted to give everyone a pack of gum. But I think his favorite part was dancing to the music from the concert. It was a great night and despite how tired I was to begin with it went very well! Dean is hoping our next outreach will be to hand out FREE packs of gum to people hanging out by the bars downtown. We’ve got the gum it’s just a matter of when we’ll go. Dean and I used to do Servant Evangelism outreaches at our church in Ohio and are glad we are able to bring something so fun and easy to help people realize how they can serve their community in practicals ways to show God’s love.

Sugar Baby

I did it!!! I passed my most recent Glucose Tolerance Test! I’ll have another test in about 7 weeks at which point I’ll be suprised if I dont have gest. diabetes yet, as thats when I found out I had it w/ my first pregnancy and I think it’s almost a given to get it again. I was somewhat suprised I passed the test this time but am VERY glad I did. Seven weeks of eating whatever I want!!! Mind you I admit being a little sugar crazy this last week while i waited for test results, I think I was so worried I’d have to start a new diet this week since I thought I’d fail the test, that I was trying to enjoy as much as possible. A bad attitude I am sure, someone at high risk for developing a sugar problem should probably do better to avoid a problem, but sometimes I just love my sugary sweets! So for now we can all live normally and I dont have to change my diet, Im very grateful to have it this far w/out problems.

Dean on the other hand has been sick since Monday, I told him today that he’s just feeling pregnant! I hate when he is sick, especially when he vows he doesnt need a dr til of course it’s late at night and he feels miserable beyond compare. My ultimatum is if he isnt up to going to work tomorrow then I make him an appt, I should have really forced the issue today so he could go to work tomorrow, but he is so set in his ways about not seeing a dr and I wasnt up for the fight.

I have some belly pics but am embarassed by how fat I am so I dont think I’ll share them sorry guys! Ironically I havent really gained that much weight, and everyone thinks I look good, but under the clothes I know the truth. It has a lot to do w/ having a tummy before I got pregnant and now the baby is moving that already unneeded unwanted fat up and out so I it looks like i have two baby bellies, it’s rather disturbing. Today we found belly pics from right before i had caleb and I was huge, I cant imagine being that big, but I know it wont be long! Dean thinks my chest has grown overnight and by my nagging back pain these last two days I think he might be right. I had a growth spurt in that area early on too so I thought I was done, but I guess not. I think I need some new clothes soon too but I hate to spend the money on that when we need other things. My shorts are starting to get tight which isnt too bad since I’m five months pregnant and still in my regular clothes. But I need shirts and now bras I suppose too, yes I know TMI!

caleb is getting that theres a baby in my belly, He has started patting my belly when he’s sitting next to me, it’s too cute. and he says the baby’s name sooo cute too, but I guess unless you’ve guessed what the name is you wont understand that until we announce the name. Speaking of Caleb, he’s finally well on his way to being potty trained. I thought it would never happen and every day is still a battle over pooping in the potty, but more often than not he’s going on the potty and not in his pull ups. It’s exciting, I was soo praying he’d be potty trained by his birthday or at latest before the new baby comes, and I think at this rate we are right on track. I dont look forward to potty training a boy again in 3 years as everyone says girls are easier to potty train but I can always pray the next child is trained sooner than Caleb was.

well I am off to bed, it’s been a stressful week w/ Dean sick and I’m not feeling up to par either. I’ve had my first headache in at least a month, maybe longer, since 3 , 3 1/2 months pregnant I really havent had a headache, until this week when I’ve had at least one a day. Just hoping it’s whatever Dean has and not my other problems coming back to haunt me again. Since dean’s had a headache and aches all week I’m guessing we all are just getting a bug, which is better than having to worry about my pseudotumor again. Time to get the kiddo in bed and sooner than later myself too!
