Veggie Tales Cakes

ethanrezercake.jpgour friend’s little boy Ethan is celebrating his 2nd birthday this weekend. These are the cakes I made for him. larrycake.jpglarry is made out of a loaf bread pan and 2 halves of a round pan(at the top and bottom).  Bob of course is just a round pan.   usually you would cut off the raised part of the cake to make it level, but w/ these I turned them right side up, as they would be in the cake pan and left them raised which makes them seem more animated(3D)  Since I wasnt sure there would be enough cake for their party I used the leftover batter to make another small round and made that Bob, guessing that could be just the birthday boys cake if they want!   I also still had batter left so I used some pumpkin shaped pans I have and made a few more small bobs w/ that shape.  but I didnt want them to get ruined in transport so theres just a few!   I had fun doing this, I am REALLY glad it turned out so nicely.   It took a while though because I had to keep stopping since my arm hurt and my hands are shaky.    It really frustrates me and I almost started crying when I realized that this is a talent I wont get to use often because of the pain it causes me and also because my hands are getting shakier as I work, I’m guessing a result of tired muscles.    it wasnt that bad, pain wise, I was smart and stopped when I got achy!   the shakiness really was the worst!

off to clean up my cake mess and get a nap since it seems the boys wont be back anytime soon…I’ve gotten so much done today, and I’m still in my pjs!  🙂

Hey, just wanted to let you know that the cake was a big hit! He kept saying…BOB…LARRY! We used the smaller Bob for his personal cake and after he had eaten some of it, he said…Bob?!?!?! Hurt?!?!?! HAHAHA…he thought he was hurting Bob. Funny.
