Dean and the boys just left to meet his family at the park where they went camping last night. Dean didnt want to camp out this weekend so he’s taking the boys to spend the day doing other camp things like hiking and whatever else they do! :-) so I’ve got all day to myself.  But I’ve got a to do list which includes putting away 6 baskets of laundry and decorating a veggie tales cake I’m making. I baked the cakes and made the icing last night, so today is just decorating, which makes for a much less stressful experience than lately when I’ve rushed all the work into one day.  Dean’s friend Chris was here last night and we played games and drank beers until 1 in the morning.   It was a lot of fun. in between games I made the cakes and the icing, it’s funny I dont think I would have ever done something like that before…had someone over and did other things like baking cakes and icing(which gets messy) while they were here.  It’s odd how comfortable we are with Chris even though we havent been around him for the last few years. he and dean started working at the same company, doing the same thing even I believe, 10 years ago. there’s where Dean got a lot of his computer training, Chris is still at the company and is now a manager.  So we knew Chris when we used to live here, but we didnt really get together like we do now. It’s just nice having someone you feel comfortable around, but the strange thing is I dont know why we feel so comfortable around him….guess it’s just one of those easy relationships…it’s nice to have that. we called him around dinner time and he lives close by and wasnt busy so he came over. We dont know anyone who we call last minute to come over like that, and in the past Chris has been busy so it didnt work out, but I guess he was free last night.
I keep meaning to write about it, but I’ve had little time to blog lately, but my best friend Susan and her family are coming to visit us for Thanksgiving. I am so excited about it. My mom is coming to visit the first week of December as well.   I cant wait to have visitors, it’s odd my family never seeing our home.  but I also keep seeing the flaws in it…I guess it’s just that I want them to see what we fell so in love w/ w/ this house last year, but in the last year we’ve had to live here so things are not as nice as they were when we first walked through, now it’s been lived in by 3 boys and 2 dogs, so needless to say it’s not move in condition any more…but it’s not that bad. I just keeping seeing things we need to fix before they come, silly things but things we should do anyway.  I told a friend yesterday that the honeymoon phase is over w/ the house…now it’s just our home, and of course, that means its loved in and lived in…so I guess flaws are expected!!
but I am looking forward to their visits. less than 2 months, and our month is so jammed pack this month(october) that I know that it will fly by!  So Susan will be here when Bo turns 3, I’m sure she’ll be amazed at how different he is now, I know we are amazed by him every day. We had our meeting w/ the school system on Thursday morning, good and bad news I suppose. he doesnt qualify as a child with disabilities as he’s only moderately below average.  the bad is that means no free preschool for him! it costs $75 a month to go to the public schools preschool, we were so lucky to have the preschool Caleb went to in Baltimore at the public school.  and thats just the one public school, there are two elementary schools in our community, the other one costs as much for half day preschool as it cost for full day tution at the catholic school for school aged kids(1st-5th grade)  and that’s the public school! So it’s not in our budget right now. I’m going to have Dean look into his childcare flexible spending, I’m hoping we can set that up and use it toward school tuition but I’m not sure if you can.   that way it’s already set aside each month, I know he’d benefit from going to school more often.  he’s been in underwear all week, he’s only pooped on the potty once, so he has one accident a day, poopy of course.  but he gets undressed and gets on the potty all by himself if he needs to pee, often w/out even telling me he needs to, he just goes and does it, and just ask for help when he needs to get redressed.  Caleb wasnt potty trained til the few weeks before his 3rd birthday, so I’m hoping that by the time his birthday rolls around he’ll have learned to poop on the potty too.
well off to get some work done so that I can enjoy some free time later on. I need to find a place to go get new glasses today too….one of the kids stepped on mine, and this is my spare pair. the pair I got last year Bo broke a few months after I got them.  So I’ve been using the old pair, but now I’ve only got my prescription sunglasses to use, and that’s not good.  (so I cant drive at night until I get glasses!)
hope everyone has a great day!! and BIG thanks to dean for taking the boys again. he’s such a great hubby and daddy! I’ll post pics of the cake when I”m done. I’m really excited about it.
