2nd post op for foot surgery

well I went to my second post op appointment today during which finally all of the operative dressing came off.  The incision is much bigger than I expected, I should have known w/ what came out it wouldn’t be tiny!   After overdoing for the last two days my foot was wearing the effects, it has been swollen and painful, but suprisingly notDSCF0976 in the incision area.   I have tendinitis which is causing pain because my foot isn’t used to being in the 90 angle that the boot I have to wear makes it since I’ve had it so relaxed for so long.   Also it turns out some of the pain is from the old stress fracture.  The x-ray they did at the hospital right after the surgery showed that the stress fracture was still there and not completely healed, which suprised the doctor.  it should have been healed by now.  So nothing to induce more resting that swelling and pain and x-ray proof of the still not healed fracture!  so it’s back to bed for me this afternoon as Dean got rid of the kids for me, although I feel so guilty about it.   I feel mentally able to do anything, it’s the physical restraints that are doing me in and anyone who knows me knows that I don’t do “nothing” well!   🙂
but the surgery(incision) site looks well, I can now finally shower without having it covered, tomorrow that is.  So tomorrow morning I can awaken and take a nice shower for the first time in our newly re-tiled shower.  Hoping that starts my day off right since it’s going to be a tad busy!
Just want to say thanks to all who have helped out this last week and a half and update everyone.  We could always still use a hand w/ the kiddos when/if anyone’s free!  Meals would be great too, as any extended standing on my part means I have to be back resting again right after.   For every amount I’m up on my foot, no more than an hour or two at a time I need to be sitting or laying down w/ it iced and elevated again so it makes for an interesting day!   and a boring one!
