Todays progress: He now has no feeding tube, no IV line in, no oxygen and has been taking bottles or nursing. his last nursing attempt went much better than the previous tries!!  From what we’ve heard today they are hoping to send him home on Wednesday, which is the last day I can stay at the hospital with him. so we are praying that they are right and we can all go home together! the only set back today has been that he has to stay under the light to lower his bilirubin levels since he’s very jaundiced.   other than that he’s doing wonderfully!!  much better than we could have dreamed at this point.
The other kids are not doing so well. Bo indeed has a bad ear infection but hoping after meds he is better. Caleb is missing his daddy and is very mad at him for not being around.  I guess no one really misses me, but I havent seen either kid for 2 days now and it’s really making me upset.  Some kids just came to visit in the room across the hall and it brought me to tears. Hoping that maybe Bo can come see his new brother since he wil have been on antibiotics for 24 hours.   So Bo has no concept of what is going on, Caleb just knows we are at the hospital w/ the new baby.  Dean stayed at home last night and will tonight too, which leaves me here alone which is hard on me but it was good he was home, since Bo was up all night being miserable. If Zeke isnt nursing well tomorrow I will probably go home tomorrow night and let the nurses do his nighttime feedings w/ bottles so I can be at home to get ready to bring home Zeke.  If Zeke is nursing I will need to stay here so they can call me when he needs to nurse.  We will see how tonight goes through the nighttime feedings. I’m not looking forward to having to wake up to the phone call to walk to the NICU in the middle of the night to try to nurse knowing he may not even nurse well enough and I’ll still end up with him getting a bottle and me pumping. it’s going to be a long night!
